I've just been reading my last entry and already things have changed for the better with her sleeping during the day. It's amazing how quickly they adjust and things maybe get a little bit easier. It seems what's making the difference at the moment is her thumb. The past two nights she has woken up (bad dream, I don't know) I've gotten up to check her to see if she wants to eat and she's sucking her thumb and putting herself back to sleep. I LOVE it!!!! She did it today during her morning nap and woke up happy when she finally did, nearly two hours later!!! I really hope this trend continues- and it's so cute. She never liked a dummy- when she was really little we had to force it on her and by about two months we just didn't need to use it all, seems she probably wanted her thumb all along.
It seems that just when you seem to be taking a step forward with her/life another challenge jumps up and bites you on the ass. I had to take Henry to the vet today and if you've never tried taking a 16 week old baby with a crazy chocolate lab who's not too keen on other dogs and is happy to share this fact with any dogs he meets in close proximity (say, like the waiting room of a vet's surgery) and it's the baby's feeding time, I would recommend strongly against trying it. The vet did say he wondered how mother's did it, so do I. I think we're all ok and not too traumatized, but I think we'll have to wait a few years to see for sure.

Here she is enjoying her learn and groove. It's so much fun to watch her learn and explore and the world. Motherhood is quite fun!!!!

I love it! Ella never took a pacifier either and once she found her thumb it was good nights, long naps and one happy little baby (not to mention Mama)! So glad Ims is able to self-sooth with the thumb...it's a real life-saver. Of course when she has a cold and is stuffed up, be prepared for some major crankiness as it's not possible to suck your thumb AND breathe out your mouth! LOL Ella's just getting over a bit of the sniffles and it was a couple of ugly nights. It's all good now though.
Trevor sings himself to sleep now when he wakes up in the middle of the night. It is quite funny becuase he is not using actual words but he's got the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star down pat! I am glad you are doing good now!
