While I do wish we were closer to the grandparents I do love this country. Imogen and I have been getting out the National Trust pass these past few weeks. I love the start of the historic house and garden season, it means never ending stuff to do and see and with Joe working Sunday now it means we have something to do so we both don't get bored. Here are a couple of photos from Killerton (near Exeter, amazing rhodos in the spring), Montacute (in Somerset, the National Gallery has Tudor portraits upstairs in the Long Gallery) and Knighthayes (near Tiverton, ask my dad to say it for you, it's funny to hear the Devonshire Dumpling come out of him). We've been lucky with the weather so far for days off, in fact we haven't had that much rain at all, well aside from the flash flooding in Somerset recently, opps! Today the family trooped to the zoo in Paignton and my goodness is it wonderful there. Imogen and I last went with my friend Libby back in the fall and while it was nice for me she didn't really get anything out of it. Today however she was very interested in all the animals, it was great fun watching her watch them. Here's a couple of photos from today too.
